Homemade pizza sauce

In case you haven't read my ramblings in my last post, homemade pizza is my new favorite meal! Beware if you are coming over for dinner soon. :) My last post was about easy, delicious homemade pizza dough. This is the recipe for my pizza sauce- which is adapted from Jessiker Bakes. You can change it up to add your favorite spices too. Its so easy, SO much cheaper than a jar of sauce and ready in 10 minutes or less. I will never buy my own pizza sauce again! :)

Pizza Sauce
Adapted from Jessiker Bakes
Makes enough for 2 full-size pizzas
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 6 oz water
  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil (use fresh if you have it!)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 TBSP fresh parsely (optional, I did not have this)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Heat tomato paste, water and olive oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.

Stir together until combined and let come to a boil. Boil 1 minute.

Reduce heat to low and stir in all spices. Cover and simmer 8 minutes.

Add more water by the tablespoon if its too thick.

Remove from heat and keep in a jar in the fridge or use right away on your favorite pizza.

Enjoy!

  1. Great recipe. I just made pizza on the grill tonight. We eat pizza constantly. Home made dough or on a baguette. You cannot go wrong with pizza.
