What's wrong with raisins?

So, you probably already know that I hate raisins.... My strong aversion to these wrinkled grapes doesn't really have anything to do with my love of baking, except for the fact that you will NEVER see them included in any recipes here. Sorry!

My mom has always excluded raisins from her amazing banana bread, cookies, etc. so I've been trained from a young age to look for brown chewy lumps among others' baked goods and carefully remove them!  OK so seriously, I'm not that much of an obsessed raisin-hater. This blog is just a place to post about my adventures with recipes (especially baking!) and to keep my family, who live far away from Texas Colorado, a little more involved in my day-to-day life.

I'm a 20-something gal (with a lovely gluten intolerance) who works in the advertising industry. I don't have time to cook/bake every day, but its definitely my happy place. I've learned a lot over the past 3 years since I removed gluten from my diet, and I want to share what I have learned, since it is so different from baking with gluten! I try to post honest opinions about everything I make. I love looking for new recipes, but I really prefer trying & altering those that have already been tried and approved- so hope that someone finds a useful recipe here!

Bon Apetit!

P.S. All posts from 2012 and earlier were before the diagnosis of my gluten intolerance. I still make (& love) many of those recipes with altered, gluten-free ingredients, so email me if you have any questions on how to do the same!
